The Lok Sin Tong Benevolent Society Kowloon (LST) was established as early as 1880 with the mission to, inter alia, promote education and to cultivate youngsters.
In line with our mission, our predecessors, unimpressed with the outdated belief that girls should not receive formal education, pioneered the notion that both genders should be given equal opportunity to education. Since 1929, girls’ schools and boys’ schools have been incepted one after another to offer children and juveniles free education opportunities. Later the LST were able to benefit more students by running more schools both with its own fund and by taking over a number of subsidised primary and secondary schools. This has become our on-going endeavour to cultivate students with a good character since over a hundred years ago.
